I was there with junior in the sling. He was quiet because the most of the time he was sleeping.

The rays of the Sunlight in these pictures are passing through the glass pane on the window which is designed from the artist Gerhard Richter for the Cologne Cathedral. Gerhard Richter is considered by some critics as one of the most important European artists and is also one of the world’s most expensive, with his paintings often selling for several million dollars apiece.

The Bishop, Joachim Kardinal Meisner was also there. Another time I have to devote a post to some of his choices for architecture and art.

Some short videos from the same occasion:

Saturday (a missed Rundgang at the Kunstakademie)

This time I didn’t make it to visit the annual students’ exhibition at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf. I was there late in the afternoon there and now they close earlier then I remember from past years.

Düsseldorf Saturday, February 16, 2008

While I was going out from the main train station in Cologne, a young guy came to me and offered to take a candle and go in the Dom to se how it looks today, lit up only by candles. I love the Dom! For me this church is one of my favourite buildings that civilisation ever managed to realise.

Every time I pass from this corner, somehow I always have to look this picture:

Another workday

One week later, in the same places:

Over the Rhine, Cologne, Thursday [09:15], February 14, 2008

One day is black, next is fine

Loosely, from “The Clash”, (Should I Stay Or Should I Go? Lyrics). The right lyrics are: One day is fine, next is black.

Visit at the Dom in Cologne

Dom, Cologne 15.07.2007
Laura was impressed that the baby was already at the Acropolis so she thinks it’s going to be intellectual! I don’t want to think what it’s going to be after this visit to the Dom in Cologne. Maybe a Karneval-Jeck?
Dom, Cologne 02.07.2007

This picture is taken one day after the Acropolis shooting (July the 2). Shitty cold German summer.
