The last film I show related to India some weeks ago, was the “Slumdog Millionaire” but this is not a Bollywood film … It is very interesting to see a big culture going directly from an ancient mentality to the technological and media dominated age of our days. It is very useful for many people from India all the way till Europe to realize this. Among them: the Greeks.

Since many years I don’t have a television at home, so I miss lot of the media main steam from there. Yesterday I saw some young girls at the Neumarkt place here in Cologne, playing a kind of karaoke computer video game. (At this time happens in Cologne a big computer games fair “Gamescom”). I was very impressed from the catchy song! “Mein Stern” (my star) from an artist called Ayman. Probably I am already too old for this culture, because I realized that the song is from the year 2000! For the measurements of this kind of pop hits, I suppose an ancient song.

Θα ανθολογήσω από τα οικογενειακά πάρτι του Σαββατοκύριακου:
Δείτε στο παρακάτω video έναν από τους καλύτερους μουσικούς των ημερών μας τον Gonzales (το πραγματικό του όνομα είναι Jason Charles Beck). Σε μία εκτέλεση, μιά από τις εκδοχές δηλαδή, του «this one jam». Τον συνοδεύει η Feist, (Leslie Feist) επίσης καταπληκτική τραγουδίστρια από την οποία μπορεί να ακούσει κανείς υπέροχη μουσική.
Ο Chilly Gonzales είναι από οικογένεια εβραίικης καταγωγής του Καναδά και την πλατειά καλλιτεχνική του εμφάνιση την έκανε τα τελευταία χρόνια κατά την παραμονή του στο Βερολίνο στη Γερμανία. Θυμηθείτε το «στίχο» «Gonzales über alles» κατά το «Deutschland über alles» το οποίο σημαίνει «η Γερμανία πάνω απ’ όλα». Η στροφή του ποιήματος από την οποία προέρχεται η φράση, περιλαμβάνονταν πριν τον δεύτερο παγκόσμιο πόλεμο στον εθνικό ύμνο της Γερμανίας ενώ τώρα ο ύμνος αποτελείται μόνο από την τρίτη στροφή του ποιήματος. A sergeant meets Evdokia, a prostitute, and marries her. The harsh light, the rocks, the barren landscape, and the strenuous military training on the one hand, sexuality and prohibition on the other. The environment has a negative effect on the young couple’s relationship and the sergeant will try to free himself of their bond.
